Lexus is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its F marque, a series of cars designed and engineered to deliver a higher level of sporting style and driver engagement.

The First 10 Years

The exclusive F designation was first introduced on the IS F in 2008. The F reputation was further enhanced in 2009 with the limited edition LFA supercar, of which just 500 hand built production units were manufactured. Lexus F models are developed with extensive testing on some of the world's most famous and demanding race tracks to achieve the best possible dynamic performance, handling, responsiveness, power and even the quality of the engine note.

In 2014 Lexus moved to the next chapter in its programme with the IS F making way for the more powerful RC F, coupe. The V8 powertrain underwent extensive changes that delivered an increase in performance.

The performance blueprint executed for the RC F was reinvented for the GS sedan in 2015, creating the GS F. Although it has been honed on the racetrack, the five-seater GS F is faithful to the ethos of the F in being a car that is equally amenable to drive whether you are taking on a twisting mountain, or making a routine, every day journey.

The sporting spirit of the F marque

  • For those who demand more, the power lines and sculpted surfaces are enchanced with a coat of matte finish Nebula Gray paint and contrasting 19-inch black polished multi-spoke alloy wheels.

  • In the RC F coupe, the front sport seats get leather accented blue seats with white detailing along with a blue accented shift knob, steering wheel and instrument panel hood.

  • Few engines can match a normally-aspirated V8 when it comes to delivering seamless power from idle to redline.

GS F Anniversary Edition RRP From NZ $178,400 + ORC

  • The eight-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission is the high-performance V8’s ideal dance partner, offering smooth shifts, excellent drivability and linear acceleration.

  • The front seats mimic those in the RC F while the rear seats also get a splash of blue leather on the side bolsters. Additional blue carbon trim is used on the centre console along with Alcantara blue suede dash trim and blue seatbelt straps.

  • No matter what kind of driving you’re doing, the GS F and RC F always sounds like serious performance machines thanks to a special exhaust system that emits a rumbling baritone note from its signature stacked exhaust pipes.
